"A Continental Laboratory": The Landscape of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point
My chapter on the development of the teaching landscape at West Point has been published in the volume Landscape and the Academy (Washington, D.C.: Dumbarton Oaks), edited by John Beardsley and Daniel Bluestone.
"The Cyborg in the Garden"
An essay I wrote on the renewed interest in cyborgs in landscape design and engineering has been published in the beautifully executed new installment of the New Geographies journal, on the theme of "Posthuman," edited by colleagues Mariano Gomez Luque and Ghazal Jafari.
The D.C. Water Atlas
The D.C. Water Atlas, a digital repository of maps and research on how water use affected the urban form of the District of Columbia and surrounding region, is now online. You can visit the atlas here: www.doaks.org/resources/water-atlas/
The project is the result of a year-long effort of research, map digitization, drawing, coding, and writing, and was completed as part of my duties as a Tyler Fellow at Dumbarton Oaks, who are graciously hosting the atlas on their server. You can read more about the process of creating the atlas in the project's methodological essay.
